If you missed the meeting Thursday you really missed an outstanding opportunity to listen and visit with our local candidates. Jason Woodbury, our District Attorney spoke even though he is running unopposed. As he said this was an opportunity to tell us what’s been going on in his office for the last 4 years.
Kristin Luis and Ryan Russell both spoke and explained their background and vision for the Justice of the Peace office. To be honest this is one of those offices we get asked a lot of questions about and if you had been there Thursday your would have been able to make your mind up as I have.
Saturday was our Precinct Meeting at the Plaza, the turnout was pretty good. We had about 70 members and guests there for a couple of hours doing the heavy business of Republican politics. The candidates that were there did a really good job of working the room drumming up support.
I would like to give a big special thank your to Marti Cockell for setting up and running the meeting. I also want to say thanks to Carol Larsen, Barbara Gurney, Suzie Bickel, Carolee Berglan, Lynn Sheeketski and Joan Clemson for helping her out.
Remember we have the County Convention coming up April 28 and we need some help setting it up, please let me know if you are interested.
Don’t forget we are right in the middle of gathering signatures for the Margins Tax Repeal. Stop by the office and sign the petition and ask us how you can gather more. We need 5,000 signatures from Carson City.
The Platform Committee will meet Tuesday and Thursday each week in April at 2:00PM at HQ. The agenda is to review and discuss the suggestions submitted by attendees of the precinct meetings.
