Paul’s Weekly Letter – 2 August 2017

Good Afternoon,

Wow what a busy week, we had both the Freedom Fest BBQ and a booth at the Carson City Fair.

The BBQ was on Thursday and as expected the food, drinks and atmosphere were outstanding. A great big thank you to Kim and her staff at Glen Eagles. Michael McDonald gave a really good speech (too bad I missed part of it looking for a child who was out back climbing trees) and Aaron did a really good job as our event emcee, not an easy thing to do. Hopefully the Women’s Club raised lots of money. Remember next year is our turn.

The fair booth went really well, a big thank you to all the volunteers that came out and helped. Also, a big thank you to our GOP Staffer Meagan Hebel who manned our booth most of the weekend. We had a really good location across the grass from the Dems booth which enabled us to watch their foot traffic and volunteers. This turned out to be a difficult task due to the large number of people congregating around our booth. We did several voter registrations and numerous pages of signatures for the Voter Fraud petition Nevada GOP is passing around. (If you have not signed it, please stop by the office). And if you’re wondering, the Dems did not have a lot of foot traffic, I think it might have been the big poster of Hillary they had on display.

I was really encourage by the support our President was still getting and concerned about the lack of support for our Senator, but remember the election is over 440 days away and lot may change by then.

By the way, I received a call from a staffer at the White House to discuss the next election and what’s going on in our city. (She also called all the other County Chairmen) Pretty interesting, as I said before we are right in the middle of the most expensive, heated and closely watched Senatorial race in history.

Since I and everyone else enjoyed the booth so much, I will start looking around for some more booth locations. Please let me know if you have a good location in mind.

The Basque Fry is Aug 26, Vice President Mike Pence, Senator Ted Cruz, Governor Susana Martinez and Matt Schlapp will be guest speakers. If you have not bought tickets please hurry they will sell out pretty soon. I called yesterday and all the volunteer slots are filled. Here is the web address
